The United States Merchant Marine Academy, founded in 1942, is a public academy located in Kings Point, New York.
It offers bachelors degree in marine science, marine transportation, naval architecture, and marine engineering and systems engineering.
Students are trained in navigation, ship’s administration, maritime law, personnel management, international law and customs.
The Academy also offers honors program, independent study, internships and semester at sea. The Academy currently has 910 undergraduates who are obligated to five years of service upon graduation.
